What the cart makes possible
10:30 PM, a nursing home resident complains of chest pain. The night nurse wheels the MedConnect cart into their room. Within one minute, the screen is on and the on-call doctor appears.
What happens next avoids an emergency room transfer.
The nurse places the 12-lead ECG on the resident's chest. The trace displays live on the large screen — the doctor analyzes it in real time. She takes the digital stethoscope: the on-call cardiologist hears the heart murmur. Blood pressure, saturation, temperature: everything flows automatically into the record.
The doctor concludes: no acute coronary syndrome. Overnight monitoring and cardiology consultation within the week. No transfer. No trauma for the resident.
